Blervie House

Our Whisky Tour group stayed at Blervie House for 5 nights and it was wonderful. It is so nice to come back to a comfortable and quiet place after a day sampling and touring around the area. The rooms were beautiful and well appointed. Our hosts, Graham and Sheena were friendly and helpful with information about the area and places of interest. The breakfast served in a delightful dining room was made to order and much better than the standard continental you get at most hotels. The public areas were comfortable as well as beautiful. There is even a snooker table that some of our group enjoyed in the evenings. I can't recommend this place enough. We will surely bring another group soon. Thank you Graham and Sheena for everything!

What a wonderful stay at Blervie House celebrating a very special birthday with friends. The house is big and warm as is the welcome from Graham and Sheena. From the moment you step in the magnificent front door you are treated as their special guests. The house is just beautiful, the bedrooms are splendid and the food is plentiful and delicious. We shall be sorry to leave….

Graham and Sheena have the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in. The rooms are luxurious, the entire staff are very friendly and helpful. Our meals were delicious!! Graham and Sheena visited with us sharing stories of their experiences and we had the special treat of spending time with their pets, Frank …Old Blue Eyes and Buddy. They even arranged a Piper to play tunes for us that were traditional tunes, not the usual ones . Scott was truly a special treat. We can’t thank them enough and are looking forward to our next visit.

Horrendous level of unprofessionalism, passive aggressiveness and generally distasteful behaviour from the owner Graham. A deeply offputting individual who shouldn’t be anywhere near the hospitality industry.

Blervie House is the most beautiful estate I have ever stayed in. Graham, his wife Sheena, and their team are so kind, and our room was incredibly beautiful. Breakfast each morning was delicious and we were lucky enough to have a private dinner with a bagpiper on our last night, which was very special. As Americans who are learning about Scotland, Graham was a wonderful host, telling us about the home and about the area. I hope we can return!

Absolutely exquisite! Hidden (really) gem. Will definitely return. Authenticly renovated..yet has a lift. Room was spacious and beautifully appointed. Hosts were lovely, and staff gracious. Highly recommend

We enjoyed what we came for: a beautiful house in a pleasant garden, very quiet and very comfortable. They do not do dinners (except on weekends if I understand well), but of course they cook breakfast and it is good, made of fresh and high quality ingredients. Everything was fine and as expected, except the strange behaviour of the owners: to engage with their guests seems to be a pain for them, they seem very uncomfortable, and let you feel that they have better things to do than talking to you (which is probably true, in fairness). Their repetitive remarks about the bad experiences they had with previous guests, and their way of looking at children as a permanent danger made us feel a bit uncomfortable. After a few days there, when we came close to the kitchen to simply say good-bye, we were hearing their voices very near, we loudly said good bye, but they sent their employee and didn’t show-up. All in all, a pleasant stay, but a strange feeling of not being welcome. Not sure the owners were made for this business, but the place is worth the stay. Kind and efficient employees, by the way.

Avoid at all costs. Graham is an awful man who should not be in the hospitality industry. He is rude, unprofessional and slags off past guests to current guests, especially if you are American. He doesn't seem to like Americas and from past reviews on trip advisor and ***********. A lot of people seem to have the same views.

We were away for my parents Ruby Wedding Anniversary staying from the Thursday - Monday. House is beautiful, rooms are stunning. My parents have stayed here multiple times and loved it which is why they chose it for their special anniversary. Included in the booking and pre-arranged with Graham was breakfast and a BBQ supplied on the Friday with a full sit down dinner on the Sunday for the full party of 14 people. The menu for Sunday was discussed via email weeks before our arrival so that there were no surprises. It was pre-arranged with Graham the owner that my 7 year old was an exception and allowed to be there over the weekend. We had put my son’s food order in for the Sunday via email requesting Chicken tenders, rice and sweetcorn which again was acknowledged and agreed weeks before we arrived. My sister has a lot of food intolerances which we sent to Graham so he was aware and he said they would cater to this (We have the emails to back this up regarding my son’s food, sisters intolerances and Graham being fully aware of the age of my son) We arrived on the Friday to be met by Graham who did not have anything nice to say about Americans. I was a bit taken aback that he made such off the cuff comments about Americans. He said that my son was an exception, which we acknowledged and I thanked him for being so kind. We were also informed that the only TV in the house did not work and was broken by other guests staying at the house. This wasn't really an issue as the weather was fantastic all weekend and we had outings planned every day, so we were out of the house by 9:30 each morning and not back until late afternoon when everyone went to their own rooms to get ready. On the Friday night, the owners put on a BBQ for us. There wasn't enough food to do all 14 of us. We were offered a burger each. A piece of chicken each and 1/4 sausage each. My sister was offered steak and chicken which was cooked and placed on a separate plate to avoid any cross contamination. There wasn't enough salad leaves or couscous for everyone. Graham and one of the staff helped themselves to the food on the table served to us before all of us had taken. I find this highly inappropriate Saturday morning came. You had to put your breakfast order in the night before (which we all did) they had a great selection and I must say again the food was beautiful. The only negative I have on the breakfast was that I had ordered my son some bacon and eggs but he was still asleep at 8:30am when we went down for breakfast, but I had planned to take the bacon and the toast to make him a bacon sandwich to take in the car as we were heading to Landmark that day. I got asked by Jane (one of the employees) where my son was to which I said he is still sleeping but he will be down. I went to the kitchen to ask for my sons breakfast at 8:50 (breakfast finishes at 9am) to be told by Graham that he had cancelled my son’s breakfast, the kitchen was now closed and they would not be offering
