My partner and I booked a room for a weekend at The Nautilus and absolutely enjoyed every part of our stay our room was perfect lots of space great room set up the view was lovely the spa was incredible everything catered to our needs and the staff were lovely and helpful this is my second time staying with the Nautilus and both times I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay it is by far the perfect place to relax,getaway and treat yourself to abit of luxury.We will 100% be staying again.Thankyou to the staff at the Nautilus for our beautiful weekend away,see you again next time 😊

Arrived not long after check in. We had booked an upper level beachfront room. Our room ended up being on the second floor with obscured views of the ocean due to a direct view of the Hot Chick and Boardwalk restaurants. This is not really an issue but when you actually book and pay more for an upper beachfront with views that’s what you expect. Whilst unpacking husband turned on the tv only to find it didn’t work. This was rectified immediately by staff. Excellent shower and great parking. Communal corridor carpeting could do with replacing and the back stairwell exit had a horrible smell. Didn’t spend anytime relaxing on balcony due to uncomfortable chairs x 2 with no table and a very noisey restaurant/cafe directly next door. Also drapes within our room could do with a dry clean, grubby fingerprints and marks on them. Overall an average stay and a little overpriced.

These rooms have got a nice outlook over the park to the sea. I’m not sure they are luxury from my point of view. The bed really needed to be replaced with a mattress that wasn’t sloping and saggy. My main issue was the housekeeping service. We decided to stay in a serviced motel rather than air bnb type place because of the daily room servicing so we felt like we were really having a restful holiday. Most times the room servicing was done late in the day and was only a change of towels. We went for three days without our rubbish being emptied, no tea towel, and the bed wasn’t made, until we asked on the fourth day for a full room service then the whole room was cleaned and vacuumed and the sheets changed in the morning while we were out. If you don’t mind housekeeping inconsistencies, then it’s a nice place to stay.

Our family of 4 stayed in 2 rooms for 5 nights. Good location- easy walking distance to town, cafes and waterfront. Very helpful with storage of our bikes in their board room as all bike lockers were full. One very disappointing point was that the covered pool was closed (due to covid) which was the main reason that we chose this place (it was open when we booked). When I asked why (as according to Covid orange settings - all pools: covered and outside can be used at this level), the reply was that management of this particular motel had decided that for the safety of customers, they would keep it closed- esp as they were not a mandated motel. She explained that extra precautions needed to be put in place. I queried this, as they asked to see our vaccine passports when we arrived. The person I spoke with said this was because we were from Auckland. I am not sure of the relevance- as the whole of NZ is currently at orange (Northland was still in red at the time of writing). I asked when they would open it—and the reply was that management would re-evaluate. It seems strange that the covered pool has to be closed, but fine for the restaurant to be open.

We were due to stay just one night but got stuck in Napier when Cyclone Gabrielle struck. The staff could not have been more helpful We woke on the morning we were due to depart and the power went out. The manager tried to help us find an alternative route out of town, but when we couldn't he agreed that we can stay in our room. It was clean and very well presented, if we had power (not the hotels fault) we could have cooked a meal very comfotably in the excellent kitchenette in our room. The bathroom was spacious. With no power the staff provided torches and extra sanitiser. They stayed on site and available 24 hours a day and were a constant source of information and support.

What a fantastic motel! If friendly service, cleanliness and a welcoming smile is top of your list then this is the place for you. Over our stay of 4 days we utilised the pool area, the outdoor chairs(just outside our unit). We appreciated the milk, range of teas, the coffee and Xmas treats left out for us...one of us is partial to eating copious amounts of chocolate! Thank you to the cleaning team who topped up everything and replaced the towels.

Carpet stained, paint peeling from bathroom ceiling and piece of paper stating no room service old and tattered. Shower rail full of crap which got pulled down with towel after shower...YUK. Movie channel not available and worn out compedium said office available until 9pm - left a message well before this and still awaiting a response. Paid $345 cash per night for a second rate room. External stairs being all steel are so bloody noisy any peace and quite is gone, especially early morning - so don't stay in room next to the stairs. Took two emails over a week to get a response which just blamed Covid.....over that. Did not get advised on check in re no room service - in reflection there is just no service here. Have stayed many times before privately and with work but not going back.

Overnight stay, tipping down with rain so we were happy to collect food and eat in our very comfortable family unit - I'd booked a studio but we were given a bigger room, didn't take advantage of the spa bath but it was tempting. The kitchen was well equipped, bed was comfortable, shower pressure really excellent (just what you need after a day's driving. We were able to have a good walk along the waterfront next morning, the Beach Front Motel is well situated with access to tourist attractions. One small point - in the upstairs big units be careful of the top step, we put a dining chair on that step, it would be very easy to forget the step-down is there and would be easy to fall.

I stayed here for two nights in May 2023. The hotel has the best location for Napier, right in the CBD and a 2-minute walk to the Napier War Memorial Centre (where many conferences are held). The hotel retains its heritage features, so it's not a modern hotel but it is clean and tidy and almost as new. The room had a TV, iron and ironing board, comfortable bed, mini fridge, tea and coffee facilities. My room faced the street but there was no noise. However, the room overall was small - would definitely be a squeeze for more than one person for a long stay. The writing desk was small and the wifi was a bit slow at times. Parking was somewhat problematic. I arrived and parked my car nearby, went to reception and they pointed out the parking area which is just a couple of blocks from the hotel. When I arrived at the parking area (a large paid parking area), the places reserved for the hotel were all full. I checked back a few times over the next few hours and that remained the case. Finally I parked in one of the non-reserved areas and the hotel said that they would pay that charge for me (I didn't have to pay anything as I booked directly with the hotel and that included free parking). The people at the hotel were very apologetic about the parking situation. I don't know what happened with the cleaning of my room as it wasn't cleaned at all after the first night, ie bed was not made, rubbish not removed, and coffee not replenished. Maybe this was just an oversight but, if it is the policy not to service rooms, at least the rubbish should have been removed and the coffee replenished.

The location of this motel is excellent. Directly opposite the beach and very close to the shops of Napier. Whilst the room was dated, it was extremely clean and had a super comfy bed and pillows. The best thing about this motel is the manager Gaigan. He was very friendly and helpful on our arrival and when the cyclone storms hit, he was wonderful. When a disaster strikes, a person's true character is revealed. Gaigan is a man who is caring, honest and an exemplary manager who did his very best to help everyone despite being concerned about his own family and friends. He cooked on a BBQ for guests, he tried to find out information when there was little being disseminated by authorities and he was calm and reassuring. When there is an abundance of accommodation in a town, customer service is what makes one establishment stand out from others and this is why Edgewater Motor Lodge gets 5 stars, due to Gaigan's outstanding customer service.

My suite at harbour view was just what I needed. With a beautiful view and very reasonable room, I now feel refreshed. The spa bath and high pressure shower was great. The room comes with full Sky TV and outdoor furniture for the balcony. The room was spotless when I arrived. While the building is outdated, I saw two contractors painting today, so I feel the owner is working on updating and improving this which is great to see. Interestingly, I picked this motel because the room was a great price. I normally expect to see something wrong when this happens, but I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you harvourview for a wonderful stay!

Reception opens at 12 noon, a note on the reception desk would help to inform guests. We had a great size room which included a very comfortable 2 seater recliner & a desk with a chair! A comfortable king size bed & a great shower. The aircon system is unusual where it is connected to the room above & below your room, the first night the aircon turned off & we couldn't get it to turn back on, the second night was fine. The hotel is on a busy road but it is quiet at night. It is a ten minute walk to anywhere, supermarket, take away, beach & shopping.

We booked one night here on a whistle stop trip through Napier, it did exactly what we needed. The check in was good and it was very nice speaking to the friendly man at the front desk, he made us feel very welcome. The units are at the back of the pub and don't look that great from the outside, but are exceptionally clean. Our room did feel a bit tired, but the bathroom was on the newer side and our AC unit worked well. I've dropped some points from the rating due to: open style shower tends to make everything in bathroom wet; and the kettle plug couldn't reach any plug point in the kitchen - we were therefore plugging it in on the floor. All in all a good place to stay, unfortunately the pub and restaurant were closed on our stay (just after NYE) otherwise I could imagine that would make this an even better place to stay.

After a pleasant reception we were shown where to park the car with plenty of spaces and how to reach our room. It was spacious and excellently equipped with a lovely bathroom with a stunning view. The room had a balcony with table and chairs with fabulous views also. Room service was extremely good. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order with a very good choice. All staff were smiling and polite and gave us excellent advice. The location is really good with lots of good restaurants and bars within minutes. We would unhesitatingly come here again and would highly recommend this hotel.

Booked an executive suite for 1 night. Very comfortable, clean, modern, and private. It was quiet too which I needed. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating to me. It was so comfy that I stayed and paid for an extra day to have a lovely well-earned rest in the aircon. The bed was super comfortable with gorgeous pillows. I felt I was in luxury for the day! The kitchen and bathroom are modern and pristinely clean. There’s a microwave to heat things up and a little fridge/freezer. They have sky television which was an enjoyable change from Netflix. I will definitely stay again and recommend it to friends and family🙂

These rooms have got a nice outlook over the park to the sea. I’m not sure they are luxury from my point of view. The bed really needed to be replaced with a mattress that wasn’t sloping and saggy. My main issue was the housekeeping service. We decided to stay in a serviced motel rather than air bnb type place because of the daily room servicing so we felt like we were really having a restful holiday. Most times the room servicing was done late in the day and was only a change of towels. We went for three days without our rubbish being emptied, no tea towel, and the bed wasn’t made, until we asked on the fourth day for a full room service then the whole room was cleaned and vacuumed and the sheets changed in the morning while we were out. If you don’t mind housekeeping inconsistencies, then it’s a nice place to stay.

My partner and I booked a room for a weekend at The Nautilus and absolutely enjoyed every part of our stay our room was perfect lots of space great room set up the view was lovely the spa was incredible everything catered to our needs and the staff were lovely and helpful this is my second time staying with the Nautilus and both times I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay it is by far the perfect place to relax,getaway and treat yourself to abit of luxury.We will 100% be staying again.Thankyou to the staff at the Nautilus for our beautiful weekend away,see you again next time 😊

Carpet stained, paint peeling from bathroom ceiling and piece of paper stating no room service old and tattered. Shower rail full of crap which got pulled down with towel after shower...YUK. Movie channel not available and worn out compedium said office available until 9pm - left a message well before this and still awaiting a response. Paid $345 cash per night for a second rate room. External stairs being all steel are so bloody noisy any peace and quite is gone, especially early morning - so don't stay in room next to the stairs. Took two emails over a week to get a response which just blamed Covid.....over that. Did not get advised on check in re no room service - in reflection there is just no service here. Have stayed many times before privately and with work but not going back.

Overnight stay, tipping down with rain so we were happy to collect food and eat in our very comfortable family unit - I'd booked a studio but we were given a bigger room, didn't take advantage of the spa bath but it was tempting. The kitchen was well equipped, bed was comfortable, shower pressure really excellent (just what you need after a day's driving. We were able to have a good walk along the waterfront next morning, the Beach Front Motel is well situated with access to tourist attractions. One small point - in the upstairs big units be careful of the top step, we put a dining chair on that step, it would be very easy to forget the step-down is there and would be easy to fall.

I stayed here for two nights in May 2023. The hotel has the best location for Napier, right in the CBD and a 2-minute walk to the Napier War Memorial Centre (where many conferences are held). The hotel retains its heritage features, so it's not a modern hotel but it is clean and tidy and almost as new. The room had a TV, iron and ironing board, comfortable bed, mini fridge, tea and coffee facilities. My room faced the street but there was no noise. However, the room overall was small - would definitely be a squeeze for more than one person for a long stay. The writing desk was small and the wifi was a bit slow at times. Parking was somewhat problematic. I arrived and parked my car nearby, went to reception and they pointed out the parking area which is just a couple of blocks from the hotel. When I arrived at the parking area (a large paid parking area), the places reserved for the hotel were all full. I checked back a few times over the next few hours and that remained the case. Finally I parked in one of the non-reserved areas and the hotel said that they would pay that charge for me (I didn't have to pay anything as I booked directly with the hotel and that included free parking). The people at the hotel were very apologetic about the parking situation. I don't know what happened with the cleaning of my room as it wasn't cleaned at all after the first night, ie bed was not made, rubbish not removed, and coffee not replenished. Maybe this was just an oversight but, if it is the policy not to service rooms, at least the rubbish should have been removed and the coffee replenished.

We were due to stay just one night but got stuck in Napier when Cyclone Gabrielle struck. The staff could not have been more helpful We woke on the morning we were due to depart and the power went out. The manager tried to help us find an alternative route out of town, but when we couldn't he agreed that we can stay in our room. It was clean and very well presented, if we had power (not the hotels fault) we could have cooked a meal very comfotably in the excellent kitchenette in our room. The bathroom was spacious. With no power the staff provided torches and extra sanitiser. They stayed on site and available 24 hours a day and were a constant source of information and support.

The location of this motel is excellent. Directly opposite the beach and very close to the shops of Napier. Whilst the room was dated, it was extremely clean and had a super comfy bed and pillows. The best thing about this motel is the manager Gaigan. He was very friendly and helpful on our arrival and when the cyclone storms hit, he was wonderful. When a disaster strikes, a person's true character is revealed. Gaigan is a man who is caring, honest and an exemplary manager who did his very best to help everyone despite being concerned about his own family and friends. He cooked on a BBQ for guests, he tried to find out information when there was little being disseminated by authorities and he was calm and reassuring. When there is an abundance of accommodation in a town, customer service is what makes one establishment stand out from others and this is why Edgewater Motor Lodge gets 5 stars, due to Gaigan's outstanding customer service.

Booked an executive suite for 1 night. Very comfortable, clean, modern, and private. It was quiet too which I needed. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating to me. It was so comfy that I stayed and paid for an extra day to have a lovely well-earned rest in the aircon. The bed was super comfortable with gorgeous pillows. I felt I was in luxury for the day! The kitchen and bathroom are modern and pristinely clean. There’s a microwave to heat things up and a little fridge/freezer. They have sky television which was an enjoyable change from Netflix. I will definitely stay again and recommend it to friends and family🙂

We had a difficult start to our 2 night stay. We arrived at 11.30am after our flight to find the door locked. After using the after hour button the door open & we waited 10 minutes before the lovely house keeper helped us to store our luggage. Reception opens at 12 noon, a note on the reception desk would help to inform guests. We had a great size room which included a very comfortable 2 seater recliner & a desk with a chair! A comfortable king size bed & a great shower. The aircon system is unusual where it is connected to the room above & below your room, the first night the aircon turned off & we couldn't get it to turn back on, the second night was fine. The hotel is on a busy road but it is quiet at night. It is a ten minute walk to anywhere, supermarket, take away, beach & shopping.

Our family of 4 stayed in 2 rooms for 5 nights. Good location- easy walking distance to town, cafes and waterfront. Very helpful with storage of our bikes in their board room as all bike lockers were full. One very disappointing point was that the covered pool was closed (due to covid) which was the main reason that we chose this place (it was open when we booked). When I asked why (as according to Covid orange settings - all pools: covered and outside can be used at this level), the reply was that management of this particular motel had decided that for the safety of customers, they would keep it closed- esp as they were not a mandated motel. She explained that extra precautions needed to be put in place. I queried this, as they asked to see our vaccine passports when we arrived. The person I spoke with said this was because we were from Auckland. I am not sure of the relevance- as the whole of NZ is currently at orange (Northland was still in red at the time of writing). I asked when they would open it—and the reply was that management would re-evaluate. It seems strange that the covered pool has to be closed, but fine for the restaurant to be open.
