After reading other reviews for this hotel, I have to put my 2 cents in. First - the restaurant, Renoir. For dinner, they offer things like octopus or salmon with squid ink tiles. We were having a tough time finding something that sounded good. We ended up ordering the special, which was risotto. It was bland but ok. Nothing special. We didn't ask the price. When we got the bill we were stunned. Who pays 50 for risotto??? Granted this is Canadian dollars, so in US dollars it was $37. Each. Our friend ordered the foie gras with brioche, and it was not good. The brioche was even a little burned on the bottom. The next morning we had breakfast at Renoir, which was better, but still not outstanding. The sausage was truly inedible. We had our car valet parked for one night, and that was CAD 45. Plus tax. The room was 479. Plus tax. Then there was the mysterious ”Urban Experience Fee”, which was 15. Plus tax. I added up all of the taxes on our bill and they came to 135.35, which was 15% of our total bill. So for a one night stay in Montreal, we spent just shy of CAD 900. I don't think we have EVER spent that much for an overnight stay anywhere. It's especially annoying since the meals were so disappointing. The room was fine, but again, nothing special. The closet doors were worn and tatty looking. There was a mini bar with outrageously priced items, such as M&M candies for CAD 9. The redeeming feature of the room was the bath, which was lovely. Nice shower, separate tub, marble floor and walls. I didn't care for the soap/shampoo dispensers, but that's getting to be more common in hotels. If you're planning a visit, bring lots of cash. And be prepared to be taxed on everything multiple times.

First, Hilton-branded hotels are my chain of choice and I am also a Diamond Member and have been for years. We chose the Hampton Inn Downtown Montreal due to its location; close to Old Montreal, Chinatown, the shopping district, and restaurants. At check-in the customary ”thank you for being an Honors Member” was not mentioned though not a big deal! As a Diamond Member I asked about the comp upgrade if available. I was told by the agent at the front desk that there were no upgrades available and that I was in a room with a ”couch”! Not sure what the 1 ½ person couch would do but whatever. We arrived at our room, our small room. We were on a 7-day trip to cold climates with outdoor events therefore we had a lot of baggage - nowhere to put it all in the room. From the room, I dialed ”0” and asked if we could please be assigned another room. The person on the phone said ”yes, of course, we will put you in a suite!”. (See above, front desk agent, no suites available.) We arrived to a large suite with great amenities - full kitchen and appliances, corner room, lots of room, etc. The downside, the floors were a mess - I mentioned it but never heard back. We used a damp towel and cleaned the entire room ourselves. Oh, the towel, it wasn't healthy looking after that. The runner carpets at the bed were no better. I door parking was great BUT it's where all the ********* smokers gather though there's no indoor smoking in any of the building. BTW - note that ********* is TOTALLY legal in Canada so that was not the issue - smoking inside was the issue. So, great location, nice property, attention to detail and Hilton Honors members is very lacking and a front desk agent who got caught in a little lie!

Great price quality ratio, great location next yo the Palais des Congrès and Old Montreal/ Vieux Port, excellent mattress and pillows: deep sleep in a long time, spacious room, good continental type breakfast with croissants, pains au chocolat, bagels, cheese, hard nailed eggs.

Location is great if you want to be close to China town or old Montreal. It is about a 30 minute walk to downtown. Although parking is pricey it was worth it since the under ground garage was clean, bright convenient and safe!! Just make sure your ticket to go in and out works properly, it can get stressful since the garage is a bit on the tight side to have to back up with cars behind you when the ticket won’t let you out. I stayed in room 1409 and was large and clean, but there was a vacuum sound that would go on and off throughout the day, however we were out exploring for most of the days. Great stay and would return again!!

Loved it. Although the location was not my favorite, I loved the hotel itself and the service. The room was spacious, I laid out my 3 big luggages and still was able to walk around. The hotel lets guests use their lounge space which I especially enjoyed. Breakfast was something I also enjoyed. I would definitely consider staying here again. And I almost forgot to add that it had a wonderful view!! I would sit by the window and look at the scenery!

I get why this is a 3-star hotel and not a 4-star one. It’s fine for the most part, but the cleanliness and the attention to detail are just not there. The hallways are super dark. The room was modern and brutalist aesthetic. The bathroom was small but well designed. But the carpet and the bedroom bench had gross stains on them. Some of the fake wood furniture were obviously chipped. The leather on one chair looked discoloured. I expect beautifully architectured hotels at the core of the city to do better than this. The lounge is only open for dinner and it’s almost deserted. Fortunately, there is a convenience store accessible from inside the hotel, but I expected room service. A+ to the staff though. They were very polite and helpful.

By far the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. Stayed there mid June 2023 for just one night. We entered the room and something smelled off but we let it go. When we got in bed the smell became overwhelming. I took the duvet off and realized the duvet smelled of old mildew water and sweat. Called and asked for a new duvet. Was given a light blanket. The smell persisted. Slept horribly and woke up early to again investigate the smell. Took all of the bedding off and realized the mattress cover was covered in dry urine stains. I made the mistake of sniffing. Showered before leaving and the tub wouldn’t drain. Went down for breakfast to find their continental breakfast consisted of rubbery eggs,Stale croissants, coffee (not bad) and cereal. No fruit, no cheeses etc. As we checked out I let them know about the problem. I was told housekeeping would check up on the issues and would be sure to get back to me. No one got back to me. Icing on the cake- when I booked the room I asked the 3rd party vendor if the nights stay included parking. They said it did. I was charged $35 for parking. Not the hotels fault but still annoying.
